Having a home shredder is extremely convenient and can really help make sure that you stay on top of cleaning out your paperwork. There are so many benefits to having a home shredder that it can be hard to find a reason to not own one. If you already have a home shredder, that is wonderful, but if you don’t you may want to look into getting one for your home, or home office. One thing that you need to keep in mind if you have a shredder at home though, is to always keep it unplugged if you are not using it.
When it comes to a powerful machine that shreds paper into bits, you don’t want something like that left on for children or pets to be able to get into. There have been incidents where dogs have had their tongues shredded on accident, or where babies put their hands in shredders. It is horrifying and definitely not something that you want to have to go through when it is so easy to just unplug the machine in the first place. Not only does it prevent accidents with pets and people, but you also are lowering the risk of fire, and saving energy. Not that you hear about too many fires from home shredders, but as with any electronics, you run the risk of a fire if it is left on. It only takes a second to make sure that you protect yourself and your family! Safety first :)!
