Connect with Secure Document Shredding Providers

With over 20 years of experience, Shred Nations knows the ins and outs of proper document shredding and and disposal. We partner with local professionals throughout Newark and the greater Essex County area who have a track record for providing secure, compliant document shredding services.

Same-Day Estimates for Secure Shredding

With multiple qualified providers in your area, you can compare competing estimates and be introduced to the provider of your choice before the end of the day.

Our network has earned a national reputation for delivering military-grade security within small business budgets.

Local Drop-off Shredding and More

If you’ve got less than 3 boxes (roughly 90 pounds) of paper to destroy, our drop-off locations are fast and simple options. Rates differ by location, but you’ll pay by the pound for shredding services. Your documents will be held in a secure, tamper-proof shred container inside The UPS Store until a mobile shred truck arrives to shred them at that drop-off location.

An important note — shredding drop-off locations don’t accept hard drives or electronics. They also don’t allow you to witness the shredding or provide a certificate of destruction. We can connect you with certified providers if your industry requires defensible chain of custody.

Another popular option with residential customers is Ship ‘n Shred. We’ve partnered with FedEx to set up mail-in document shredding services for small volume shredding — just box up your records and schedule a pick up when you’re ready!

How It Works

After you contact us via form or phone, Shred Nations will help you to determine your paper shredding needs. We’ll then match you with one or more providers in our local network. Those providers will reach out to you with quotes, allowing you to make the right choice for your shredding needs.

When you’ve chosen a provider, you’ll prepare your documents for destruction. Depending on which service you’re using, you’ll either drop off your files at a location near you, or the local provider will travel to your location to pick up your documents for onsite or offsite shredding.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much shredding works best for drop-off shredding services?

Toggle open

If you’ve got less than 3 boxes (roughly 90 pounds) of paper to destroy, dropping them off is fast and economical. If you have more than 3 boxes, it’s generally more economical to use mobile or offsite shredding services to dispose of your documents.

How long does the document drop-off process take?

Toggle open

The drop-off process shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes per box. The part of the process that takes the most time is depositing the documents into the secure collection bin.

Will someone help me weigh and drop my documents off in the collection bin?

Toggle open

Yes, one of the trained representatives at your drop-off location should be able to help you weigh your documents and deposit them into the secure collection bin.

Are the collection bins locked for drop-off shredding?

Toggle open

Yes, the secure collection bins at drop-off shredding locations remain locked. Contact the drop-off location you’re considering to confirm their specific security measures.

Can I witness my shredding at a drop-off location?

Toggle open

While every drop-off location varies, most locations can’t accommodate witnessed shredding due to customer volume. If this is a concern, consider one of our other shredding service options like mobile shredding or offsite shredding.
