The Brenham Presbyterian Church, in partnership with Shred Nations, will be hosting a shred day for community residents of Washington County to shred their confidential documents securely on Saturday, March 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 900 S. Jackson St., Brenham, TX, 77833, in the Brenham Presbyterian Church parking lot. Rain or shine, the Shred Day will occur regardless of weather.

Community members are encouraged to bring their unwanted confidential documents – including banking statements, old tax return files, medical records, credit card receipts, etc. – to be shredded on site. Each attendee will be limited to 100 pounds (three bankers boxes) of documents to be shredded. Machine paper, letterhead, white tablet paper, computer printout paper, laser print paper, and other miscellaneous white paper and staples are accepted. VHS tapes, CDs and binders will not be accepted for shredding.

In exchange for the shredding service, attendees are asked to bring a monetary donation in the form of cash or check written out to the Brenham Presbyterian Church. Donations will pay for the shredding and other service projects.

“We want to thank our community for its continued support to our church by offering this event to the public,” said Rev. Dr. W. Brent Hampton, Pastor at the Brenham Presbyterian Church. “We welcome all of our surrounding neighbors to join us in this Shred Day to have your personal records shredded.”

Choosing to shred your confidential documents is a way for companies and homeowners alike to protect their information from potential risks of identity theft.

“At Shred Nations, we promote the safe destruction of your confidential information,” said Rand LeMarinel, Vice President of Marketing at Shred Nations. “We hope this shred day will be a benefit to the community for those seeking help in keeping their personal information safe.”
