There were two big arrests in the battle against identity theft. Not surprising is they both came from the former Soviet Union which is an important center for international rings involved in the crime.
Maksym Yastremskiy, a Ukrainian man was arrested in Turkey on suspicion of selling credit and debit card numbers stolen in the TJX data breach.
Igor Klopov, Russian man arrested in New York. Klopov was the alleged ring leader who mined the Internet to obtain victims' personal information. His targets were the Forbes 400 list. Four of his co-conspirators are also under arrest in Michigan, Texas, Florida, and Kentucky.
It is a great to report two wins for the good guys.
