Isis Machado, 23, of Miami Lakes, plead guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit computer fraud, identify theft and wrongful disclosure of individual health information at a U.S. District Court in Fort Lauderdale.
Isis is one of two people charged with stealing the personal and medical information of more than 1,100 patients at a suburban hospital. She downloaded the information while working the front desk at the hospital.
The information was used to bill medical providers in Miami for services that were never rendered. The two stole $7 million in fraudulently billing to Medicare.
