How do you charge?

Most of our contractors charge by weight or number of boxes to be shredded.

Can I just buy or rent a shredder?

Yes, if security and certification are not important to you. Shredding is important but it is best done by a professional. Read more here.

Do you recycle what you shred?

Yes, everything that can be recycled is recycled.

What is "mobile shredding"?

Mobile shredding or on-site shredding is where the shredder is built into our truck and your material is shredded in your parking lot.

What is "off-site shredding"?

Off-site shredding or plant based shredding is where we take you material back to our plant in locked bins to be shredded.

What is "witnessed shredding"?

Witness shredding is when you observe the shredding process. It can be done with a mobile shredder or when you visit a shredding plant. All negotiable instruments should be witnessed.

What is a "certificate of destruction"?

No matter how you have your material destroyed you will receive a certificate of destruction. This is your certification that your material was destroyed properly.

What is a "purge service"?

Purge service is a yearly clean out of old files and storage areas.

What is a "strip shredder"?

A strip shredder cuts the paper in long strips. This is the easiest method to reconstruct and offers you limited protection.

What is a "cross cut shredder"?

A cross cut shredder cuts the paper in two directions to give you a smaller piece. Although more secure than a strip shredder it is still easily constructed by existing software.

What kind of shredders do you use?

Our shredding contractors use pierce and tear, hammer mill and grinder technology. All three provide irregular particles which are nearly impossible to reconstruct.

How much paper can fit in a file box?

A standard file box holds about 28 pounds.

How much lead time do you need to schedule service?

We can usually be at your location within 48 hours. Often times we can arrange service the following business day.

Can you shred computers, uniforms, credit cards, skis ... ?

You name it and we can shred it. Just let us know what you need and we will come and get it.
